Thought I researched this company well, but missed these 1 star reviews somehow. Don't hire these guys for any thing you really care about. Maybe simple trimming only. Ryan (arborists, estimator) seemed pretty good, but gave his crew zero information on the job. I edited review to two stars because the crew was efficient, clean and professional on the job site. I don't think their actual workers even understand anything about tree anatomy though and pruning/trimming trees, they just know how to use the equipment, not where and how to cut. My long time tree trimmer shutdown his business and retired. He'd cared for my tree annually for 15yrs or so. I have a 20+yr old Tipuana that was carefully pruned every year to give a beautiful shape. We put a ton of care, time, effort and money into this center piece of our backyard. We essentially treated it like a large bonsai project since the tree wants to be 50ft tall and we are trying to keep it at 30ft or so. So essentially LC crew showed up with no instructions from the arborists on how to trim this tree. They did not even have the photo of the previous years tree trim result that i provided LC. So they hacked up all those years of effort, I had to actually tell the main trimmer to stop hacking off the critical parts, large pollards, of the tree in the beginning. The pollards are where the tree was trimmed to every year and should remain on the tree as a guide for the trimming. He said he thought I wanted him to go aggressive which I never said. I should have just kicked them off the job right then, but I did not, so that's on me, so I'm certainly partly responsible. I should have asked Ryan if an arborists would be on sight for the trimming as well, again that is on me. The tree will grow back, and like a bad haircut it will take a couple good trims to settle it back into shape. I'm going to try and fix the mess by hiring my old tree trimmer as a consultant while I do the work. Just sad for me overall. LC should really consider these recent reviews and train their trimmers better.

Ryan made a great first impression regarding trimming 6 queen palms, but we specifically asked if they used spikes and were told 'No.' The workers ended up using spikes on all the trees they climbed which was our primary concern we addressed during the estimate. We now have holes in our trees from the ground and were offered a minimal discount after. Do Not Trust This Company.

This review has been a long time coming (this was done last year) — I didn’t want to review this because then it would make this horror a reality. I’m getting misty eyed just typing this.
They sent a consultant over to talk about how we wanted the tree trimmed for its general health so we could keep it for years to come. But the consultant was pointless. When the crew came, they totally butchered the tree. I’ll let the picture speak for itself.
This is NOT how you trim an evergreen. A major hack job like this is permanent and will have the tree fighting for survival the rest of its life! I am so, so sad at this loss. We will probably have to cut it down because it is so imbalanced now and the top-heaviness could make falling branches a liability.
Do not hire these tree butchers or you’ll be mourning your tree as I am.

Do yourself a favor and find another contractor. They provided a quote in line with others but when it came time to deliver the work was beyond subpar. I couldn't even tell what had been trimmed so I checked my cameras and saw very little work being done. I had to hire another contractor after they kept stalling on addressing my concerns. This continued on until I told them I didn't want them to work for me any longer. Best $1 I ever lost as I hired a professional service that took care of the trees

Very professional company. Their head arborist Larry is very knowledgeable about tree health, tree trimming and tree safety. The workers were accurate, thorough and they cleaned up after themselves. Also they were very safety conscious and had proper PPE equipment to perform their job safely. I would highly recommend LC tree for your tree trimming or tree removal needs.
