I would hesitate to recommend Sound Tree Care to other homeowners based on my experience. We received several bids for pine tree trimming and tree removal, and Sound Tree Care’s quote was in the middle of the price range. Based on the proposal and our discussions, we chose to move forward with them. Unfortunately, the work was not completed to the standard we expected. The pine trees were not fully trimmed, several large limbs were left behind, a significant portion of the stump remains, and the crew left water bottles and debris throughout the yard. In addition, plants were moved during the work and were damaged or killed, leaving the yard in poor condition. When I contacted the company to discuss these concerns, I was informed that the remaining limbs and stump removal were not included in the scope of work. I was then quoted an additional $250, on top of the approximately $1,500 already paid, to remove the remaining limbs, and stump removal would still cost extra. During the estimate process, I believed it was clearly communicated that we wanted all unnecessary limbs removed from the pine trees. As a result, I was surprised to find that large limbs were left behind, including some that are still touching my neighbor’s house. I have included photos of one of the pine tress left untrimmed, why as a home owner would I pay over $1000 to not have large limbs hanging over my car. While the crew did complete some of the work, the final result did not match my expectations based on our discussions, and I was disappointed by both the quality of the cleanup and the response when I raised my concerns.

I needed the leilandy trees trimmed in the backyard, there are 45 planted. Trim the top, sides, front & back away from the fence. I don’t think my neighbors should have to pay to trim my trees. They were getting out of control because they grow so fast. I got two estimates, the first one for $2500, the second one not even close, less then $1800 from Sound Tree Care which I went with.Their estimate was much more reasonable and I really liked AJ. I asked him about two other trees in front of the house and he was very honest saying they didn’t need trimming. He could have made extra money but he didn’t. He’s very knowledgeable and professional. He explained how trimming & shaping the leilandy trees will grow into a privacy hedge which is what I have wanted since another company planted them 5 years ago. I can then have my lawn person maintain the shape. Then in 2 or 3 years Sound Tree Care can trim the top if needed & it will cost less. Several days later his crew of 3 came out to do the job. They asked me again questions to make sure we were all on the same page. As they were cutting they stopped & asked if the length was good. They were all very nice, professional & easy to work with. They took all the trash even clippings from bushes that had been trimmed by my lawn guy. I am very satisfied & happy with the job that Julio, Jerome & Angel did. I highly recommend Sound Tree Care. I also like the fact that I was able to text Sharon pictures of the work I wanted done. I personally like texting better because it’s easy to forget during a phone conversation. Sharon texted me appointment information & kept me up to date. Kudos to her, she was great to work with too. After AJ came out he emailed an estimate with all that we had talked about & a deposit is required which I had no problems paying. I also want to mention that after looking at their website & seeing that they cut these huge trees, I was intimidated & worried they wouldn’t want my smaller job but I was so wrong. AJ said all jobs are important. They take small & large jobs. I can’t say enough about Sound Tree Care.

December 5, 2025, the company Sound Tree Care was contracted for work on a neighboring property. After completing work inside the yard, the common alley was used to bring a large truck to clean remaining debris. Upon completing their work, the site manager determined their truck would be unable to fit without damaging an old memorial tree in my front yard. Noticing this, they felt compelled to send a worker into my flower bed, cutting two limbs off my tree and disposing of them, all without my knowledge or permission. I was first alerted by a knock on the front door as I was preparing dinner in the kitchen for myself and my 84-year-old mother currently battling cancer. When I reached the door, I found no one on my porch but inside my flower bed with 1 branch cut at his feet. I had to run back to the kitchen to take things off the stove before I could question the person, missing the chance to keep more limbs from being cut down. When I was able to step outside and ask what was happening, the first man explained to me that it was “better for my tree” to be cut rather than broken by the truck. I questioned them further, but they continued to finish their work, never taking off their earphones to explain why they hadn’t waited to speak with me before damaging my property. The truck was unlabeled, so I was forced to disturb my neighbor for contact information. When I returned and demanded to speak with the person in charge, they repeatedly told me to wait until the work was completed, then left. I called the company on the next business day and spoke to one of the arborists, and she was very nonchalant regarding my concerns, stating, “What do you want me to do?”  I felt extremely violated by the trespass, dismissed by the site manager who refused to speak to me, and disregarded by the manager on the phone when I called to complain.   Being a homeowner, it is imperative that you maintain good relations with your neighbors, as an issue like this could potentially cause undue tensions.  A month has gone by, and I have not heard back from the company.  I would not recommend this company because customer relations does not appear to be an important tenant of their brand. A company needs to be exceptional in the service they provide as well as ensuring that they leave a positive name for themselves in the community and leave no negative impact when they complete a job.

We were very happy with work the Sound Tree Care did for us. We wanted the neighbor’s trees trimmed where they were reaching over onto our property, as well as the trimming of our own trees. Sound Tree Care was very easy to work with, from scheduling the estimate, talking to the estimator, through completion of the job beyond our expectations. The crew was careful of neighbors’ property as well as ours. They cleaned up the work area afterwards very well. Everything we communicated to the estimator was performed. The price was reasonable given the scale of work and the excellent job done.

The arborist came and gave us a long free consultation on our big pine and probably saved its life. We were so grateful we happily gave them the job of trimming some dogwoods. His advise on caring for them will revitalize them! I wish we had known about them years ago. This is a great company giving you personal-able interactions. So much better than huge commercial companies.
