The workers did a fantastic job cutting down a dead tree in our backyard, which was at risk of falling on our deck and home. They arrived on time, were skillful in avoiding damage in the surrounding area, and were efficient in cleaning up. The Urban Arborist was recommended to me by a landscape designer/architect who is a close friend and neighbor of mine. I consulted with them on an ailing tree on my Potrero Hill property. The arborist accurately diagnosed the problem with the tree and made excellent suggestions for how to help the tree to recover. He was clearly very knowledgeable and focused on the well being of the tree as opposed to on how the company could find ways to create business for themselves. I was very impressed with the consultation and followed up with them a year later. The tree has been improving ever since that first visit to my backyard.
I live on a prominent corner in San Francisco and have two very large ash trees that are about 40' tall. Below them is a very delicate shade garden consisting of fern trees, hydrangeas, giant birds of paradise, etc. After a very thorough consultation with the head arborist, it was decided that both trees needed pruning to take out the dead and cross branches, and thin out some of the canopy that had been damaged from the winds off the Pacific Ocean. The team showed up on time with the correct equipment and knew exactly how to proceed. Not a single plant from the garden was damaged. There were two 8' to 10' tall piles of cutting that were swiftly put through a chipper and the entire yard, street and sidewalks were swept and blown clean. This is the second time The Urban Arborist have serviced these trees and I would not trust them to anyone else. I highly recommend their service and thank them for a job well done.
